PennDOT will hold a public meeting on Nov. 10 to update the community on the Coatesville Train Station Improvement Project. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Coatesville City Hall Building, One City Hall Place, Coatesville.
PennDOT, in partnership with the City of Coatesville and the Chester County Planning Commission, has been working to relocate the Coatesville train station to a location the public identified during an August 2010 workshop. PennDOT will also review recently completed Environmental Site Assessments in the train station area which will be used when making future land-use decisions.
The current station does not comply with federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and PennDOT is working to address this issue and explore ways to further enhance the station and its surroundings. PennDOT anticipates that construction of station upgrades will begin in two to three years. Please feel free to attend the Nov. 10 meeting or share your thoughts below regarding the project.
